A typical 5-6 gallon batch uses 1-2 drams (0.125-0.25 oz), depending on the flavor and desired intensity. Add the flavor during kegging or bottling, starting with the lower amount and adjusting gradually to taste. Mix gently and sample before treating the entire batch.

Flavor Profile and Beverage Ideas

Guava is fragrant and tropical, with pear, strawberry, and soft citrus notes. It fits hazy pale ale, wheat beer, saison, hard cider, melomel, fruit wine, hard seltzer, and Ranch Water. In hop-forward beer, choose citrus or tropical hop varieties and avoid excessive bitterness. Lime, mango, pineapple, passion fruit, and ginger all pair naturally. In a dry base, Guava will read sharper; a little residual sweetness will make the aroma and finish feel fuller.
